He spent many years in the service of Uncle Sam. A move from Arizona to Colorado in 2000 set his life in another direction. Toni GibbonsProducer-Editor-Reporter Toni brings several years of experience in newspaper and social research. She has published one book, “The Little Train That Would Not Die”. This past year she has been accepted as an associate member in the Western Writers Association and received the Pinnacle Award for her book. She has written for both the Berthoud Recorder and Ranchland News before taking the plunge to work with a startup paper. She lives on ranch south of the Paint Mines and loves her life on the prairies. email
Timothy GibbonsReporter-Photographer-Graphic Design-Ad Sales Tim has worked for several years as the graphics artist for Flashback Studios. He brings not only his writing talent, but his abiltiy to navigate the Quarkxpress system. When he is not writing and building barns on his other job, he helps his brothers as an actor and dance instructor with Flashback Studios. email
Nancy GuentherCowgirl's Kitchen - Writer Nancy Guenther retired to Colorado after a twenty year teaching career, which included computer programming and instruction. Prior to that, she wrote features and a food and recipe column for the Oconomowoc Enterprise, a Wisconsin newspaper. Nancy trained for horse show jumping, but after one show, decided that the competitive arena was not for her. After moving with her husband, Tom, to a small ranch near Peyton, she gave riding lessons. She enjoys taking care of her horses, reading mystery novels, exercise/weight lifting and ofting recipes and then writing about them, much too her husband’s gastronomic delight, provides her with a creative outlet. email
Amy SweetsWebnews Live Reporter Amy Sweets is uniquely gifted in the field of cyber journalism, a new and demanding field of news reporting. Prior to coming on board with the View, Amy worked with the Cyber-Bits Newscasting Crew and, later, with the Lunkhead Bloggers. For the fashion conscious she sports a new outfit every week. Amy brings her unique brand of professionalism to our staff. She is single and lives in downtown Cyberspace. email
John LaBordeCoffee on the Rails - Writer John will be writing for us on the ever popular subject of local history, trains, and railroads. Graduated from Genoa High School. Grew up on the flatlands of Colorado's prairie. A Vietnam era vet, and graduated from CU Denver. Been published in various magazines and local newspapers. A business man and rail fan that has traveled coast to coast, border to border and has poked thru the nooks and crannies of the back roads of the Centennial state. email
Chris FoxWebmaster-Graphic Design Chris worked for Hewlett-Packard in technical documentation and graphic design for 28 years and lived in the Black Forest area before moving to his ranch near Limon. In the last six years he runs his business, Techno-Graphics and provides the High Plains View with webmaster and graphic/commercial artist services. In his spare time, Chris is an active model railroader and a talented artist. His sense of humor is one of his best attributes. He always has smile and a cheery word! email
Jeff Danner Veteran's View - Writer/Photographer Jeff Danner, better known as J.D. to his friends, brings his love of the outdoors and photography to the High Plains View. After serving for 21 years in the Army, J.D. decide to put down roots in Calhan. He said when he was younger he bought a 35 mm camera. “While stationed in Alaska and on the coast of California I started taking pictures and it just went crazy from there.” When not working at the Hardware Store in Calhan, J.D. can be found practicing archery or taking pictures. email Copyright High Plains View |
